I believe that being a culturally-oriented psychologist is about creating a "habit of mind" that is aware of the role of culture in all aspects of our clinical work. It is not about simply seeing culture but understanding deeply how one is affected by their cultural experiences. Understanding culture in therapy allows us to bring the role of culture into the therapeutic setting and relationship.

I am interested in working with supervisees who are committed to culture in therapy and becoming a culturally competent/oriented therapist. My doctoral training in counseling psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison included academic coursework, practicum, and a competency exam in the provision of clinical supervision. As a supervisor, I believe the supervisory alliance is essential in providing high quality supervision. I use an integrated/relational approach that emphasizes the Individual Developmental Model (IDM) and multicultural psychology. I value knowing who you are and your hopes and dreams as a psychologist so that I may provide the developmentally appropriate support that you are looking for. I seek to strike a balance of support and challenge to help trainees grow.

I am currently accepting supervisees for licensure as a psychologist and licensed professional counseling in Oregon. The current fee for supervision is $120-175 per 1 hour of supervision. If you are a licensee building a practice I offer a negotiated sliding fee as you build your clinical caseload. If you are interested in working with me please send via email to jenjee@drjenjees.com 1.) a cover letter addressing your interest in working with me, commitment to diversity, and hopes for supervision, 2.) letter of reference or names of two former/current supervisors that can speak to your clinical strengths and growth edges and 3.) curriculum vitae/resume.
